Post by: Bovvered on 24 December 2003, 11:17
Looking for a set of good allround tyres for about ?60 per tyre for my VR6 - Any suggestions?

Pirelli P6000's are good but they don't last so long

As you would guess the more grip a tyre has the shorter its life.

I hear Hankook are quite good for the money and they are used many track cars as a comprise between life, grip and lifespan

........a little above your quoted price, but I had Eagle F1s put on my 16v about 3 weeks ago.

Over the Xmas hols Ive covered about 1000 miles in a few days visiting loads of friends and family, doing lots of motorway miles and booting around the windy roads of darkest Devon, also the more familiar roads of the Surrey countryside.

They have been bloody great all round, especially in this season of crappy weather, really great!   ;)

Eagle F1's are probably the best I've had on my VR6 but will not last very long at all.

I have a pair of Hankook's on the front and Bridgestone RE720's on the back.

I swap 'em over every 1000 miles or so and could recommend either. Cost me about ?40-50 each including fitting.
