Title: MAF. is it broken???

Hey there, my Golf GT TDI has pretty much become sluggish and a poor performer. Ive pulled out the MAF air flow sensor and looked at it, but im not sure if the sensor-wire is broken! does anyone know what i should be looking for to see if it working or not???
