Title: What a complete...........................................
Post by: Gozza on 03 August 2006, 10:04
Well Ebay gets worse and worse in my opinion, bidded on this

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=330010630630&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=014

Won the item fair and square yet he refused to sell to me as he wanted more for it, I am seeing this more and more :(

What would you do about it if this happened to you ? Other than the negative feedback I left, after he left positive for me of course

get his contact address and go round there a give him the toe-in he deserves....

Or report him to ebay as you have actually legally brought the car off of him (think it is in the terms and conditions somewhere, could be wrong though)

Ebay wont really do anything tbh, they cant make someone sell something if they dont want to when the auction has finished if money has been exchanged then they will try and get the money back (eg paypal) but thats it really.

Report the seller to ebay. Bout all you can do really. The mong should have put a reserve if he wanted more that 1k for it.

Well I have decided to take it as far as I can as I am peed off with this, similar thing happened when I agreed to buy this Mark 2 in June -

http://www.matey-matey.com/mk2_gti.shtml

Paid the deposit etc, then he would not sell to me

Will report the item not received and go from there, ah well I ruined his 100% feedback at least - Damn Gimp.

P.S what ya think of the golf in my sig, that was from Ebay too  :smug:

its disgusting! put no reserve then moan when its not enough! Same thing happened to my mate, and he took it to a small claims court, and got  the car plus £3k compensation. The guy didnt have a leg to stand on, mak sure you print out as much info as you can, e.g. wining and payment info.

The company my mate used were 100% free, they claim ALL of their costs from the other company, win or lose as they told him he was in a similar situation to that of being a 3rd party in a car crash.

Do you think this will make a difference ?

Angers me when they do things like that... A reserve bid should have been put on it... And I think Ebay can give like a warning to the user its summit like 3 times and your account gets deactivated but at the end of it all it leaves a sour taste in the mouth because the ebay experience puts people off. I still use it but I prefer going over to collect whatever items i want and paying in cash.

Your Mk2 is nice man... I got one in the same colour and style but missing the 17's

Did you have to have arch work done?

Car is still as I bought from Ebay bar the delocked door handles, front arches have been removed completely and rears hacked about too. Does not rub at all though which is nice and lowered about 60mm I would think. Not only that but the thing absolutely flys, has uprated cams I am led to believe :)

*han* I'd be very interested to hear more details about that case as a lot of the solicitors that I know wont touch this sort of thing anymore as its a legal minefield !

In that case if the statements were untrue he could have been charged with obtaining goods, services or money by deception

I had a similar thing with a 20vT head a few months back. It was for sale through a 'friends' mum's ebay account so I didn't know it was his. I won it for £21 and asked for the address so I could collect.

the 'friend' emailed me back saying he wasn't selling it for "that round of beers bid". Bid! I won it fair and square. it wasn't the first time he'd done this by the look of his feedback.

anyway. harsh words were exchanged and I left it at that.

Funny thing was I was working on his car at the time installing the new 20vT lump teehee.

I've bought several things off ebay and never had a complaint about any of it, perhaps I've just been lucky so far  :undecided:

Dont worry I am sure it wont take long for a complete Gimp to get on ya titties via Ebay

I been using it for a couple of years now and I probably had about 15 run ins with complete numpties.

This is the worse one by far, I can see his point but at the end of the day I won the auction, not only that but he agreed to sell it to me over the phone. He should stop being so tight and add a reserve.......................... Chimp.

Well I gotta wait until 11th Aug, then I gonna "item not received" his ass

Oh and by the way, its my birds account hence the "Lucy" business ;)
