Post by: dubaudio1 on 01 August 2006, 14:02
hi i  have 2.0l 8v 1994 with 110k on the clock .just bouth engine and gearbox (as my geqrbox has gone) from 1997 with 90k on the clock.
i want to just swap bottom end and gearbox as my haed has been ported ,polished and skimed.the new engine has a different inlet manifold than mine so the computer has to be different ( i thing).

my question is : do i have to change anything in the bottom end to run with my manifold ?
any tips to do before i put the new bottom end to my car (changing oil ,cam bel etc) please let me know.

sorry for speling i`m not english

many thanks thomas

the bottom ends should be near enough identical, just swap anything from your old engine onto the new one that looks different ;)

The main thing to worry about is perhaps the later angine has the newer fixed dizzy, if so you'll have to swap your old one on :)
