I don't know much about cars in general but have liked Golfs ever since I had a ride in my mates Ralley a few years back.
A couple of weekends ago (whilst out looking for cars for my Mrs) I, totally on impluse, bought a 02 plate 5 door V5 170 bhp Golf with all the trimmings, leather recaro seats , cruise control etc, etc (it had been a demo car initially).
This weekend past (whilst still looking for a car for the Mrs) the guy at a garage told me I should have gone for a GT TDI as they are generally considered better cars. I felt gutted by this as I think my car is the best thing since sliced bread. Is this bloke right ? Your opinions would be appreciated.

The tdi's are good and they can be easily tuned to produce good performance, at the end of the day tho it is all down to personal choice and if your happy with your purchase then good for you. Everyone is different and chooses different cars, stick with it mate and I'm sure you wont be dissapointed

the V5's are good cars mate, the only differences with them and some tdi's are the extras and the MPG... if you can afford both, go for it if you ask me.
sounds like a well spec'ed car, any pics??

sounds like a nice car you got there, the guy was just wanting u to buy one of his cars thats all. TDI's are great cars and as said have good tuning potential but its what you want at the end of the day.
as said get some pics up!
