I'm sure it's gonna be a vacuum leak or ISV problem but lately when I raise the revs in my digi GTI they don't return straight away - they hang and sometimes climb before returning ....
I've had a look through the posts and not found anything similar - what do you lot think ???
Cheers Dave.

Vacume leak i reckon..
I'm gettin a small one at the mo on my motor. Not too worrying at the mo, it only seems to raise and dip the revs slightly when the engine is cold in the mornings.
Right royal pain in the ass trying trying to track them down..
good luck!

I was hoping it was the ISV - the cars only done 78k but if it's never been cleaned it's bound to be dirty by now.
If it's a vacuum leak then yeah I'm buggered - not like u'll be able to feel it with your fingers or anything ....
I really don't wanna get in to a situation of changing hundreds of gaskets and never sorting it - fecking car !!!

hey there,
Now im no mechainc.......but i was just reading through your post, and i had the same kinda problem on my 8v Gti but only when the engine was cold it would high rev for a min or 2 then come down!
If its not a vac pipe (but it probablys is)
then could it be anything to do with the the kent cam you have could it be cam timing or anything like that??

Yours sounds like it's behaving normally Pixie - it'll rev high to warm the engine up !!!
The cam is dialling in proply so nothing to do with that ... it'll be a vac leak which is not really what i wanted - was hoping just to clean up the ISV and sort it but that only works on idle I'm told - that right ???
I'm a very competent mechanic - just new to veedubs, so sorry for the doppy questions !!
