Title: Vento VR6
Post by: mutant on 25 July 2006, 13:21
I know it's technically a golf forum but i thought I'd ask anyway.

I bought a mk2 gti to do up, but I've always fancied a vento vr6, and I got an insurance quote and it turns out it'll be cheaper for me to insure the vr6 than the gti (god knows why, probably just because its called 'gti').  Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with vento vr6's?  Do they handle as well as mk3 golfs?  Are there any major differences other than the fact it's a saloon?

Thanks

it'll probably handle a bit better than a golf due to better balance/weight distribution. good luck finding one though.

Well my current daily driver is a jetta and that handles beautifully, so i guess it should be ok.  I have a few to look at before i make my final decision :) thanks for the prompt reply

Mine handles reasonably well ( although it's only an 8v )
Also on a side note, there's a Vento VR6 that's 2nd in the VW CUP series which must mean that they handle pretty well when you see what the Vento's competing against   http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/archive06/points06.htm  and   http://www.vw-cup.co.uk/archive06/results06.htm
