You decide!
-
depends on the colour............
i.e 3dr white GTI looks the dogs danglies but a 5dr doesn't
-
3 door cars look better
but on golfs five doors look pretty good also
i saw a 5 door r32 the other day and quite liked it
-
I like 'em both
-
I reckon they both look equally good, but there are too many people out there who would dismiss a car because its a 3 door (past experience), so since there is the option of 3 or 5 I plumped for 5 door :D
-
5 have to be good.
-
three doors all the way with most hatch backs, they just look better! the only cars that look good with 5 doors are bora's, leons, A4's and thats because they are designed that way! (well thats what i reckon anyway!!)
-
now before people jump all over me i know that strickly speaking the bora and a4 are four door but you know what i mean!
-
ILMAO - I was jsut thinking that
-
We have 5 dr, but voted for 3dr - no regrets though, prefer the practicality of a 5 dr even though don't have kids
-
I agree looks = 3 door practical = 5 door but they both look sweet
-
I must agree they both look good.
But I couldn't EVER imagine going for a 5 Dr R32. I mean, a GTI, maybe, but the R32? It would feel like a waste, in my opinion. I mean, if its a practical car your going for, then don't buy the R32.

Are you joking?
Do you know what the whole concept of a hatchback was designed to be? A small, PRACTICAL car - hence the hatchback and folding seats so you can carry lots of stuff.
If you aren't bothered about practical, then you buy a coupe or roadster.
GTI's and R32's are successful because they give a "sporty"-ish car to the driver who still needs a practical, boxy, upright car.
The current Golf is practically the same size and shape as many of the mini-MPV's on the market!
-
here we go
-
You wouldn't buy a 5 door for the look's but easyer to live with. Got no kids so 3 door for me.
-
As you'll see from my profile I've got a 5dr R32 in Deep Blue & I think it looks in better proportions than the 3 door - obviously I'm in the minority in preferring the look of the 5 door! I'm off abroad now (work again) but when I'm back I must post a pickie of my motor, then you can make up your own mind!

if u want something practical, why not get a proper family car like a golf plus? i just dont see the golf as a family car.
u buy a golf cos u want that fun small car look and thats what u get from the 3 door. but the practicality is there when u require it. u get loads of space, folding rear seats, big boot and comfort. and its easy to get into the back as the seats slide all the way forward and are easy to use.
-
i have to admit though, on the GTI and R32, the 5 door versions look nice. even on the GT and Sport they are fine.
but with the S and SE, 5 doors really doesnt look right. especially if u get it in silver or grey where the plastic around the sides and door handles become noticeable. it just looks like a golf plus and u know how much i hate that car.
-
3 door IMHO.

Definitely five door - we have just bought one
-
No car in the world looks better in 5 door than 3. Practicality is a different issue and the 5 door is obviously better.
-
Agreed!
-
3 door all the way it makes the car look like more coupe-ish if you get me any way if youve got a kid get a roof rack and just put them up there. Main bonus being no spills on those lovely seats!!!
