those style plates are legal over here (guernsey) so If you wanted to send me a cheque I may be able to get you a pair and send them back to you. Cant imagine it bein more than £30 with postage. I dont know if thats a good price or not but if it is then send me a pm and il sort something out for ya.

I think your looking for the old style, pre 74, british spec pressed (halfsheer) plates, and not the German/EU ... these are the people www.vintage-plates.co.uk

from what I can gather these plates are hard to purchase off companies as they are specific to that year. My golf is 1982, so may have to just go for the silver on black. Its hard sourcing them.
-
be carfull fella, they're illegal to use on the road !! :undecided:
-
yeah only cars before janurary 1973 can have black/silver plates
-
i cant remember where i got mine from, they were off the net for about 25 quid for the pair! i have had mine on for over a year and never had any trouble witht the old bill, they have even been behind me and not pulled me over! i do take them off for the mot though! mine's an 82
-
You can also have them on private plates....and I think those strange ones, you know the Irish ones,....KZH 29364 type ones...as they are ageless.
-
I got pulled with mine and the copper actually read my black/silver plate to do his radio check and didn't say anything about it

they def do them but be careful of the legality. only Pre 1973 cars can use them on the road so keep your old ones for Mr MOT. :)
