Title: central locking

i own a jreg 92 mk2 gti 5 door
and i have been trying to get a central locking master switch that sits in o/s/f door
my locking system is vacumn controlled
i have tried vw dealers and they keep trying to sell me a solenoid, but mine is only a switch,
almost given up
anyone any ideas?

I thought the switch was intregal with the selinoid. Rivitied on I thought. May be wrong here as mine is a 3 door.

I think I have one. mine's electric so it replaced the vacume vw one when I swapped the doors over.

unfortunately i discarded mine when it went wrong
it was a black plastic switch about 4 inches in lengthand about 1 inch wide
