Title: mk4 r32 exhaust
Post by: johnmotion on 18 July 2006, 14:02
I have just fitted an r32 exhaust to my v6 4motion but dont have the plumbing that goes with butterfly valve. This means the valve is constantly open. Does anyone have any knowledge of what it is there for and if it is ok to have it fully open all the time,
cheers
john

thinks it serves another purpose, bit like the 'exup' exhaust butterfly on yamaha r1 motorbikes and stuff, kind of holds in the back pressure a tad at low/mid revs to increase torque etc.. then as she starts blowin at full chuff they open up to let the gasses out at full crank.... well... in theory... no other reason for it to be there really!!
