A little tip for anyone wanting to tune a mk2 16v. If you want a 2.0L bottom end, don't go to C&R or TSR, go to VW.
Colbournes in Woking quoted me ?679+VAT for a brand new COMPLETE 9A engine block.
Is that good or what?

Wow! That is a blinding price! 8)
If only i had a mk2 16 valve. I am looking for a decent one as a second car but can't afford to do anything till the summer. Not bothered about engine but chassis and body need to be A1 as it is to be a serious project car. Mk3 can be officialy demoted to daily driver then!
Was thinking about a G60. I love that engine but its serious hard work keeping them on the road and doing anything with the gear box is nasty! Helped a mate with a new clutch on a G60 and it nearly killed us and the car!
Mk2 16v heavily modded or a nice VR6 - 1.8T conversion i think! ***DREAMING*** ;D

Thats the beauty about the 9A, 2 litres, fit straight in the mk2 no probs.
Quite cheap considering TSR and C&R want about 2k for it.
