Anyone done one of these? Looks fairly straight forward. I asume I'll need to take the clocks out & how do I get them out?
Cheers guys

Yeah you will have to take the clocks out. Its straight forward enough. If you pull out all your switches and radio you will see the screws that hold the dash surround. Take all the screws out then remove the surround. You can now see the screws that hold the clocks in. Take then out then you can start to manuver the clocks out. Manuvering the clocks is the hardest part!

Cheers mate, what we talking in terms of time? 1-2 hours?
This is prob a really stupid question & I fully expect to have the wee extracted, here goes anyway!
I'm guessing a broken speedo is an mot fail???
Its that time again!

If you remove the lower shelf and lie on your back you should be able to reach up and round to the back of the clocks to remove the cable. A bit of a ball ache but a lot quicker than removing all the dash. This is how i sorted my speedo cacle out any way

Liking that tip frog

You need bloody small hands. I can touch mine but theres no way i could depress the clip and pull it off. I dont think speedo is an MOT failure, i mean how can they check without taking the car out (which they dont) or having a roaling road (which they wouldent use even if they did). If the MOT centre is anything like the 1 i go to you drive your own car in and out. Oh and yes 1-2 hours probably.

Theres a dash clocks removal guide in the MK2 maintenance+info section, its not hard, just fiddly as you have to remove everything to get to it!
I'd also fit a set of new dash bulbs while you're there, not a job you want to have to do again in a hurry
