Title: Big Bumper -> Small Bumper Question
Post by: mookie on 09 July 2006, 18:55
I've got a hankering (once it's back from Le Garage) to look for some small, chrome finished bumpers for my Mk 2 GTi to replace the big bumpers already on. Before I go spending money, would it be simply a case of unbolting the existing bumpers and slotting on the new smaller versions? I know to go small-to-big you need to add holes: are these holes (which I already have) visible with a small bumper on, or are they covered? I've looked through the many guides for big bumper conversion and can't find much about this one.

they will be covered. its as simple as bolts but u will need some additional body panel at the front and different arches and sills (if ur keeping them) cos they wont match up

there is a front valance that connects the wings across the front. also i disagree the holes will be visible but they are below the bumper so nothing to worry about too much.
