NO NEED TO SHOUT!

Welcome to the forum, generally people are quite helpful but try not to use caps all the time, considered to be shouting!  You'll need to supply a bit more info too...

The gearbox will obviously absorb some heat from the engine, is it making any 'orrible noises?  Have you checked the gearbox for leaks and the oil level?

The oil cools the box, so if it's leaking then it will get hotter. Also if the oil is old it will be less use in absorbing the heat and doing its job properly, just as with engine oil.
Might be a good idea to see where it's coming from, if it's just the drain plug or something more drastic. If it's not too expensive and only the drain plug, it might be worth replacing the oil as it might be not too good if there is a leak and a lesser amount of oil has had to do the work of what should have been a full measure of oil.

And welcome to the sandpit
