Hi
Was wondering if the autochanger played MP3?
Hopefully once I get my handbook, I wont have to ask so many questions... :embarassed:
Cheers

not that im aware of. Mine does play cd-r's though
-
Nope it's crap
BUT you can now spec a USB port or I-pod connection in the armrest when you order your golf instead of the 6 cd!
-
I recorded an exploratory MP3 CD for use in the golf. About eight or nine albums worth.
Plays fine in the home stereo...................in the car though, it gets spat out with a rather curt `ERROR!! - CD-ROM!!` message. (I always imagined that if it spoke, it`d sound like a dalek).
So what`s goin` on ???

Doc, I ordered my GTI last week and spec'd an ipod connection, but the dealer said it'd be in the glovebox, is that correct or will he plonk it in my centre armrest?
Cheers
PS - Keep posting the pics!

If its a factory order as part of the sat nav or you have paid £320 ish for it with the armrest then yes it will be in the armrest
If you paid £150 ish for it and the dealers fitting it...then its going to be plonked in the armrest

MP3's DONT WORK IN THE GOLF CD PLAYERS
In the RCD500 manual, many references are made to MP3-CD. See pages 21/22/23.
-
CD-Rs are definitely OK, as long as recorded in audio mode and not MP3.

What 3 pages saying MP3's DONT WORK in the cd player / changer???
