my polo 16v is very jumpy. sometimes it happens when am pulling off from lights but most of the time its when im driving along and decide to go faster it sounds and feels like the engine is smothered.i might have put to much oil in when i top it up last would this be the problem? the breather pipe at the top of the engine looks very oily this pipe goes into the air filter box at the top of the engine is it possible that oil has got into the butterfly valve in the same box?is it possible to clean this easily or should i bring it to a mechanic, any help would be great! thanx

Is that engine fitted with an airflow meter (MAF), if it is, that will probably be your problem.
Remove it, and spray it with carb cleaner to get rid of the oil coating.

i was told before it has an air flow meter ,would you know where in the engine bay it would be ,there is not a lot of room around the engine to get to anything
