Hi everyone :)
I've got a mk3 golf which is the has the GL trim on it. So it's got an Immobilizer & alarm which I believe were factory fitted. The imob / alarm fob on the keys is made by 'Conglog' and so far I haven't been able to make a duplicate made (Any idea's where this can be done?)
Today the imob / alarm fob has started playing up. Sometimes it comes on when pressed, sometimes it doesn't. I wouldn't be so worried, but I can't actually turn the immobilizer off. Without this fob I can't start the engine at all! :( This has 4 batteries inside it which are in a plastic tube. I'm not sure if this makes it 1 battery or 4 seperate batteries will actually work. I went to a car shop to try and get some batteries, but they didn't have them in stock. I'm not convinced that 4 batteries will work in this tho :S
Any suggestions? Worse case scenario, how difficult is it to remove the immobilizer?

If its the one im thinking of it should have a number of copper connectors on the end of it . If tyhis is the case there is normally a port on the passenger side underneath the dashboard that the unit plugs into . it will then mobilise your car on pressing the button.

Your a star! yes there is a thing that it plugs into. Already tried it, it disables it but it also disables the alarm and remote central locking. I can at least have it disabled until I get the batteries sorted out.
Thank you!!! *such a dumbass, never noticed that  *
