Well what a sh!te weekend....
Saturday day night out on the Town in Bristol my mate got bottled in the face and split his eye open!  Luckily the hospital stitched his eyeball back togther but he still may loose his sight in that eye!
And then Sunday morning on the way to visit him in hospital this happened....

Thanks to some old biddy in a Fiat Punto who hadnt heard of a brake slammed into the back of me sending me launching foward into the back of another car!
Total write off!
-
Real sorry to hear that mate! keep chin up and go work on some of your other cars!
-
you must be gutted mate.. at least you're ok.
like Len says
-
yeah pretty gutted, i got a bit of whip-lash, and my 3 female passengers had whip lash aswell!
Im more gutted because the insurance company will value it at stupid prices!
At least i got my Mk1 project to get on with.
-
make sure you ride them for as much money as you can. i'm sure you've heard it all before but check out similar cars advertised for sale and use that to help prove how much you think it's really worth..
-
Ive browsed the net for black 5 dr Golfs of similar age to mine and the average price seems to be between £300 - £600.
If it was a GTI it would be a bit more.
-
Whiplash eh get down the docs and get yourself some compo because chances are the insurance won't pay much more than your annual premium :( arse holes the lot of em '(except martin ;) )
Gutted for you matey.
-
Yeah mate! Whiplash is a real winner! Expect anything from 1 to 2 grand.
As monza says get down the docs and get it recorded, take time off work etc. all helps to build the claim.
-
Play it right and you can get up to 5 grand or so for whiplash, just milk it for all its worth to recoup on the car!
-
gutted. whiplash = tell them your little fingers and the one next to it have felt a bit tingly and numb. don't over do it tho.
-
 Thats a real shame - still whiplash.... ch-ching  hope it doesn't really hurt and if so not too much
-
The old biddy probably thought she was playing Burnout Revence on a traffic checking race. "double takedown" flashed up as she ran into you ;)
It's always a shame to see the mk2 population reduced by another one esspecially when it's a nice one like yours :(
-
gutted for u mate, real shame after all the effort u have put in with it
-
awww mate gutted for ya! looks a real clean car!, get that whiplash claim on the go!
-
Really sorry to see this post mate, such a nice car. I know how it feels my first Golf was written off thanks to a pr!ck in a van after 5 years of happy ownership. Are you gonna try and find another and start again ?
-
Oh gee, what a mess
Hope you and your mates get well soon! Don't forget to get yourself down to the quacks too
-
gutted mate.
yep as said, get to the doctors and get some compo, that was the mistake I made when some tw@ wrote my valver off, could of been back on the road by now with the compo money.
In terms of the pay out, dont accept the first offer, you should be alroght for a grand i would say. Do you know any local VW specialists or any that have worked on your car? If so get them to write how much they think its worth and sign it.
-
Hows y mate doing?
-
Hope your gonna use the compo to get another MK2
