Title: Full Suspension Kit?

Hi everyone. i was wondering how easy it is to fit a full suspension kit. Springs, Shocks & dampeners

Also do you know where i can get some big bumpers from. cheap as possible.

hello there matey!.
 not sure about the suspension but you can get the big bumpers from gsf (german sweedish and french) buy  a copy of the golf or performance vw mag, find there add  theyve always got deals on big bumps,,  seen a complete set couple weeks ago for ?120 .

Not very easy is my answer!

Wouldn't fancy messing about with those spring clamps and you also need to make sure it is set up correctly. For the sake of a couple of hours labour charge, I would get a specialist to do it.

hate to say ur wrong mate mines was pretty easy. lowered 40mm with bilstein sports kit out of euro 8). only problems was the top caps holdin down the spring were badly rustd on the old suspension so had to but new ones (they werent provided with the kit). took a couple of days cause only worked on it at nite and did the brakes at the same time. handles so much better and the ride aint that bad. spring clamps were ?20 out local VAG dealer and they aint that hard to use.

p.s i did take it to a garage to get the traking done and they checkd it all for me sayin it was fine ;)

I agree providing you have the necessary tools (spring clamps and ramps) the suspension can be installed and configured by yourself, my brother and I fitted a G-max sports kit (shox and springs) in a day and just had the camber and balancing done professionally and thats it job done...NB might be worth doing the bumpstops too, as they tend to wear and while the whole suspension tower is disassembled its a job worth donig

I have to agree with the others.

My brother and I did full change on his and we did the shocks on my mk2 a while ago. All the stuff came from GCC and had everything you need.

We did the lot on his in a day, and the shocks on mine in a morning.

As long as you have some spring compressors (not expensive to buy - certainly cheaper than an hours labour!) and a trolley jack, you will be sorted.

60 quid for someone to do the job for me was money well spent  :)

I would have a go yourself, just take your time when dimantling the suspension and take note of where all the bits go.

Lay all the parts out in order, sounds obvious but I've been caught out before.

Its worth getting the tracking checked out after the work is complete.
