Title: Tunes!!
Post by: Matt555 on 04 July 2006, 11:08
How do boys....

My misses is back driving and has finally got to experinace the fuss I'm making about the Gti BUT!  Even with the RCD500 soundpack it's still really weak around the doors, the speakers seem upto the job but the vibration through the doors is awful.

Have any of you guys sorted a solution to the tunes issue, if so what did you do?  I'm htinking of dynamat for the doors?  :undecided:

Cheers
Matty

One of the lads that works for me put a self powered 6.5" bazooka tube in the Skoda VRS and it sounds great! plus it takes the stress from the stanard speakers trying to make bass!!!

LOL,

Doc should you get somewhere before your Fiat Uno arrives then let me know.  I'd be quite happy to take a short break and head north if you think you can nail the vibration through the doors, for a price of course

I think the head unit and speakers on the Upgrade are fine, it's the vibration through the doors!!  Mind you the misses really does crank the tunes up!!!  Darn Abba in the motor

LOL

Just spoke to my dealer to check the Toureg was still on for next week when the supaguard gets re-applied, they are going to check the doors out at the same time as there shouldn't be any vibration.  Which is nice

It sounds like you have a good dealer there - If I remember correctly they fixed your door without messing that up!

What dealer are you using?

I agree - a sub in my gti's boot with the crossover to the highest possible freq means i dont have to have too much base thru speakers and so when turned up it is more than reasonable for a gti - not being a boy racer ...... Oh, not that i have anything against them

Agreed - I'll post pictures tomorrow so you can see how small the sub is - all things considered it sounds really good
