Title: Why now should it sound so noisy
Post by: teash on 03 July 2006, 22:58
After buying my mk4 I thought i`d do the decent thing and give it an expensive oil change (even though it has FSH) but since the oil change it rattles like a snake on start up. So have I put the wrong type of oil in (castrol edge) or being an imported car should I have opted for the longlife option oil????

make sure you used the right spec oil which is 505-500.  that would be on the bottom of the castrol oil can.    check this as soon as possible as you could be causing serious engine wear

Cheers for that Aidy, oil spec says its 505-01, which is what it says in the handbook as well. So is it the right oil for the car or not?
