Title: right off outside to do headlamp loom on mk2!!

right gonna get me hat and gloves on as its freezin!! gonna go and fit my 'rustynuts' type mk2 loom upgrade for my head lamps!!! gettin fed up with not seein where im goin!! lol chat later after ive thawed out!! lol ::) ::) ::) ::)

its a piece of pish to fit

do u have cable ties? u'll need these to tidy the wiring up

Got a bargain on these the other day - 500 assorted colours for ?1

My audio wiring loom will look like a rainbow soon!!

I need to do the same as well. I bought a set of crystal angel eye headlamps and still have to fit those. Waiting for a set of crystal spots though. Wiring loom will be about the next thing after that. Let us know how it goes. :)

just been out for a blast with me new 'loom' in place!! well i think its slightly better i seemed to go faster as could see more!! lol, bu tim going to have to change the relays, as some times they stay on!!! ( i got the relays from work!!) so gonna get some different ones in the morn!! but yeah seems brighter and has cost me 'zero' up till now!! think some white bulbs etc would brighten up now end!!! ::) ::)

White or blue bulbs are nice. I am running the ice blue ones and they work pretty good.

changed relays now spot on!! gonna change bulbs at weekend!!!! ;D

i dont like them blue bulbs i think they look quite tacky

u get the modded nova boyz with their neon washer jets etc with them

just get ice white

You can get uprated bulbs from a few places, I got 100watt in the middle lights and 55/130 in the normal lights and had no problems with MOTs or heat in the light etc.

will see what i can get dont want me mk2 lookin 'tacky' as its totally orig apart from ride hight!!! ;D ;D ;D

whats this loom upgrade all about then? my headlights are dim as hell with new bulbs in.

right basically you cut the wire to the dip beam on the plug send that to a relay (+side of the coil) then to earth, then link the plug through the normally open side of the relay contact then to the 12v+ on the battery, then you get full 12v to the lamp rather than the 9ish volts that you get through the factory loom, you need to do this to both sides so to relays are needed and relevant wiring easy peasy!!! just make sure you get some decent relays!!! i have now!! ;D ;D (basically its how youd wire up spot lights etc but running orig lamp off old lamp feed) :D
