Hi - sry to appear dumb but this is my first post. Have bought a mk2 gti today fitted with a supersprint exhaust, twin "box" style. Insurers want to know what the performance increase is - any ideas? Sry to be a pain but the paper work doesnt show what increase it would give.
Its a MK2 8v GTI
Thanks guys.

Is it a full stainless system or just a back box? I think with a back box, probably none. With a full system some would say up to 10bhp but I'm not sure if anyone's got anything to back any of this up?

as i only paid a deposit on the car car today, i dont have the papers to hand....i just know it was fitted for 395??.....that sounds like the whole exhaust to me......Direct line were cool with it tho....only 320 fully comp.
And she's been lowered :), debadged grill and crystal lights.......
Happy here

Id tell them its not there for performance but for looks and long life. If anything tell them 2bhp.
-
If the engine is std I wouldn't expect any noticable gains really, agree with Ben 2bhp at most :)

Why even tell the insurance company, as far as your concerned its just a new exhaust. It doesn't have a great effect on either performance or value so say nothing
-
Cos if you dont declare modifications they are well within their rights to void your policy!

the lowest performance bracket the list is 0 - 10% so thats wot I gone for. Even better Privilege got me quote for £280!!!
Its my first Golf GTi. Love It!
Thanks for the input guys :)
