Hey guys, I've had my GTI for nearly a month now and just noticed that no matter which way you twist the little air conditioning vent valve in the back of the glovebox, the glove box does not get cool.
I had a passat before the GTI (I know - good car change!) which had the same vent valve and when you twisted that the glovebox got super cool. I mean, freezing chocolate cool or condensation on CD's cool! The GTI however ... it does not seem to be happening. Has anyone else found this? Does you glovebox cool? Is there a secret switch???
Thanks.....

Theres a small tube on the rear of the switch that falls off!

Thanks for that Doc. Do you know if that is a pull the switch assembly out and reconnect the tube or is that a take the whole dashboard apart and fix it??? I would rather do it myself because my chocolate is melting way to fast!

Mine is the same - I can feel some air coming in but the glove box doesnt get very cool...
I assume it only works when the air con is on?
As gnasher says wheres the tube you're talking about, I can't see anything visibile so is it a dismantling job?

Well that makes sense. I'll bet I knocked the damned thing off putting in my iPod adapter... and I want the vent to keep the iPod cool!
