may seem like a silly question but have no idea where to check the level of oil in the gear box.
have searched for the bung but must be being blonde on this one.
-
they are sealed, u can take out a bolt on the side tho (the fill hole) and look in the level should be level with the bottom of this hole. its on the right hand side as you look at the engine on the side of the gearbox if you get me?!?!
-
Should IIRC be two holes on them one fill and one drain, oh and a speedometer cable hole.
It is easier if you jack the car up and have a look. Approach the gearbox from the passenger side and there will be one hex bolt above another. These are the fill/drain holes and easiest way to fill it is to take the speedo cable out and the fill hole bolt, start pouring in where the speedo cable went and wait till it starts coming out of the fill hole.

I'd fill it from the hole on the front of the box rather than the speedo hole. you won't put too much oil in there then. there must be a reason why the fill hole is halfway up the side of the box rather than on the top...

Dizzie if you fill it up in the speedo hole, simply reomve the fill plug and pour till it starts coming out the side ;)

Thanku for the advice, will get looking.
