Title: GTI - Mk3 - Spare parts help
Post by: xedarius on 26 June 2006, 14:21
Hi,

I was wondering if someone could point me the right direction.

I own a Golf GTI Mk3 - 94

I need some spare parts, but I'm unsure where to get them from.

1. Someone has stole my reflector lights at the front of my car. I need a new set of these.
2. As my car is pretty old the trim has started to come away (from below the passenger door), so I need some new trim (and someone to fit it as I know nothing about cars :)

I live in the Birmingham area, so if anyone knows any good places near by that would be really helpful.

Thanks
darius

You'll be able to buy official bits from a VW dealer.  I'm always picking up bits for my Mk3 VR6 from them.

Or local Scrapyards might be ok.  Most simple bits are fine with a bit of a clean.

Or ebay of course

As for re-attaching trim, it's literally either held on with some little plastic clips (if these are broken you can probably get some from a scrappie too!), or with heavy duty double-sided tape stuff.  I stuck some of mine back using a sticky pad that came with some small hooks (for hanging keys etc on).  If you can't see it, and it's not damaging to the car, then it's all good. :nerd:
