Title: Clutch problem ?
Post by: soulman_uk on 26 June 2006, 12:47
hey all

new week new problem

noticed a problem when I'm just driving along get into second it feels like the clutch isn't grabbing the 2nd gear (only noticed the problem with 2nd) and it makes a noice like I crunched the gear but the clutch is fully pressed so I wonder if I have a clutch problem ? doesn't happen all the time just occasionally over the last 4 days.

be greatful if anyone could shed any light on what might be wrong and how much it might cost to fix.

Cheers

Could be the clutch but check the hydraulics first. I had a similar problem with my Landrover Discovery - it gradually got worse until I couldn't get a gear at all. All I needed to do was bleed the clutch cylinder and its been fine since.

On a more serious note, it could be your syncromesh on 2nd gear - this tends to go first, but try the simple options first!
