Well as you may have read few weeks ago i was about to start using Optimax and wondered what other people thought.
After 3 full tanks it changed the nature of the car entirely.
Firstly, Performance - Its bloody loads better ;D. Pulls a lot harder in 2nd and 5th. Also it is a lot lot smoother. Dont get the resonance at 60 mph like i did before. Quicker to warm up, quieter and just generally a lot nicer to drive.
Secondly, MPG. Up about 2mpg on the tank. Takes a while longer to get a decent MPG reading but when it gets going its a lot better (but i reckon this is just the weather).
Cant recommend this enough. Will never use anything but it now. Transformed the car and is simply a lot better to drive. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

i just started running it too... last weekend... seems to be goin ok.. not sure if the MPG figure is down a lot or what

Yay! Another fan of this fantastic fuel. ;D
It did the same for me and after using it for months my car seems more reliable and i have had no cold start probs this year!
It seems to have a stigma attached to it. I have been laughed at for paying more money but people don't realise its saving money in the long run through less wear and tear and better mpg. Plus it definately makes a very noticable performance difference.
Don't think this would be the case with all cars, but it seems particularly well suited to German cars.
Lets hope more people catch on to its benifits and shell produce a 100 octane version. ;)

......great init!!........Ive been filling up on it for about a year. Have been getting really anal about it too, often running on fumes just looking for a shell garage.

I didn't realise. I could have had saved a packet, i've been spending 30 a week in shell garages since June. :( Gonna ask em if i give em my receipts they will give me more points! No harm in askin!

the next closest are between junctiosn 25 (my town) + 26 (wellington) of the M5

Where i live its hard to find a garage that isn't Shell. There are 3 within 5 miles of my house. One is within walkin distance!

Never thought of running the mower on it! Nice idea. ;D Get the grass cut in half the time, more time for summer afternoon beer!!!! 8)

i wud like to use optimax but the nearest shelll garage to me is about 14 miles away :'(

I have to plan my fuel stops days in advance to ensure I only use Optimax - if I have to use anything else, I would only put the bare minimum of super unleaded in, just enough to get me to the next shell station.
