Title: What is this funnel type thingy???

Found this up around the fuse box area of my mk2 golf, anyone know what it is... its a vw item, its part number is 192 823 545

Part number unknown on ETKA as well so no help there!  I never saw anything like that when I took my dash out so doubt its an important bit.  Any more pics from other angles?

is it not part of the runner that filters water from the top of car and gives it soemwhere to go? like out of car via floor?? or is that like a stupid thing to say?  :rolleyes: - i know what i mean! altho i dont think i have one... will have a look

lol, thats what i though han, but the only drainage channels i know of are the ones that run from the sunroof down the a pillars and out into the wings ...?

is it some strange special tool that only main dealers have access to (hence the VAG p/n) that has been resting there for years? Having said that, I work on VWs every day and can't think of a possible use for it on a car. Plenty of other places to use it, yes and maybe even in a car, but never to repair one. Strange.

maybe its just something that is there for funnelling stuff like ur winscreen stuff? pretty obv mind... yet only VW have the cleverness to sort us out!

I think its an early mk2 flower holder. Like the ones you get in new beetles. However all the mk2 origional owners had the sense to throw them away the istant they left the forecourt. Stupid gimiks!

nah nothing to do with the sunroof.  I think Ben got it with the MK2 flower holder idea, seems the most logical use for such an odd thing.

Yeah, guess so. Might put it on ebay as a "rare" mk2 golf item.... lol
