Title: Make your mark 2 8v sound like a VR6 for FREE

Hi all,

If you want your Mark 2 to sound like a VR6 (sort of) when you accelerate, dont bother drilling your air box, do this instead.

Remove the lower half of the air box and you will notice a large bit of plastic that sticks out, using a flat head screwdriver use it to open all the plastic clips and then remove. Put back in and listen to the baby roar on full power  :cool:

I was well addicted when I had my 8v. Alternatively you can buy a K & N air filter but this is for all those who want to keep it stock looking.

In fact could some one do me a favour when they do this and take a photo of the 8v connection to the airbox. I have a K & N filter and need to know if it will fit on my new 8V GTI when I get it. I have a 16v at present as per my sig  :shocked:

I'm gonna have to say this, but there's no way in the world you'll ever get a 4 pot to sound like a VR...

So basically remove the trumpet, which has been mentioned in nearly every thread relating to making a golf sound throaty. Good Job.  :rolleyes:

the k+n comes with an adapeter plate i think that bolts onto the maf sensor

Hmmmmm, you see that is the problem. I Bought it second hand from Ebay so it has no adaptor plate with it :(.

I am sure I cna get it to fit somehow and after all it only cost £5 so :)

you guys should stop messing with 4 bangers and just get a V8....
