Title: cheap relays
Post by: miguel on 15 December 2003, 11:58
ok, just done the old headlamp loom upgrade and now have bright lights but... bought all the bits from maplin.
took the car to france for the weekend only to find i had a flat battery when I went to drive off the ferry. After help from the P&O people the car started but I found the full beam was stuck on. Removed the "signal" wire from the relay and it still stayed on ::) ::). Relay was a duffer :-X :-X

moral of this story? ??? ??? ??? ???

ive just mage up a 'rustynuts' type loom for my dipped beam set up and hope to get it fitted to my mk2 this week, the relays ive used are omron solid state jobbies what i use at work, have yet to see how they perform but when moddin machines at work we replace the old mechanicl jobbies with these so they should be good!, there only rated at 10amps but this should be enough for each lamp, will lets u knows if these are any good then try to find a price etc! ;D
