Post by: meow on 17 June 2006, 16:18

I have a MK4 golf and want to change the original gear knob with the gear diagram on for my nice new richbrook one. i can see how to fit the new one but i cant get the old on off. i have taken the diagram thing off the top thinking i would see a screw or something but NO! just rubber. any ideas how it comes off???

well i got it off! i hope i havent made a balls up of it. the original one was held on so firmly with a heat shrunken metal ring on a layer of plastic. i took all that off and just have the metal rod with a new geat knob - metal touring richbrook held on with three screws. hope that is enough.
