i have mk3 8v and almost every time i come to a stop for traffic or what ever it may be my revs fall really low, sometimes they will pick back up other times it just stalls, it seems to be getting worse, any advice
-
give the throttle body a good clean and take it for a good blast. mine was doing the same thing after being stood for 2 weeks and it cured the problem.
-
Yeah - throttle body needs a clean, i would say so too, ive had the same exact same problem.
-
cheers for advice but can you give more detail on how to do this, thankz
-
you can either do it the eay way and just spray it up the top half of the air filter housing with the engine running or the proper way.
take the big pipe that connects the filter housing to the throttle body off and spray inside the TB and wipe it out with a clean lint free cloth paying particular attention to the butterfly inside.

spray what? butterfly? sorry but please give us a bit more detail, i have induction kit, do i take this off?
-
Also worth checking all the breather hoses and the thin hose up to the ECU.

i had the same problem and the cure is to replace the fuel pressure relay
