Title: GTI Gearbox Capacity
Post by: psenior1 on 16 June 2006, 16:25

Going to change the gearbox oil on my wifes 1993 MK3 GTi tonight, I'm assuming its the same capacity as an 020 box on a mk2 (I've bought 2 litres of oil)?

I take it its a case of filling through the 17mm plug on the side of the box until it trickles out???

Thanks in advance!!

As a general rule I would say you are correct.

gearbox oil is a horrible smell... because you know if you can smell it when driving something horribly expensive has just happened
