and where i masked it off i have been left with a little ridge (I have laquered it aswell... :undecided: ) and my bro says that i should use cutting compound to "flatten" it...but i havent got any at the moment, what i have got is a load of wet and dry....would it be better to sand it back very lightly and then reapply another coat of laquer (also it has run slitghly :embarassed: )
Which should i use?

Mix, stop mate what are you doing? Painting a car is different to spraying it mate. Take your time and do it properly, don't rush it mate.
Mind you you could do the first Golf multi colour MK2 gti model! Just like the Polo.
-
is all good matrz, jjust touching up some small parts on panels... ;)
-
Nowt wrong with a bit of home spraying using rattle cans. I'm repainting a complete mini with em at somepoint this year.
Just take your time and keep flatting it back and you can get an excellent finish.
Keep up the good work Mix.
Nick

cheers dude, gonna head down stairs in a minute and get sanding again :(
-
The Multi Colour/Panel Mk2 has been done! See the Bristol Volkfest photos!
As for you Mix having seen the photos of that car I think its worth doing a good job mate so take your time use the finest wet and dry you can get and be gentle!
Patience is a virtue that most students have yet to acquire!
-
just do the whole car with a brush and blackboard paint or hammerite, be "unique"

You may joke, but i did think of that.....
just got to let a little bit dry, do some laquer...then in a week or so im gonna t-cut it so it all looks the same shade . . . or if it doesnt im just gonne drive the "super sh!t box"
-
well, after some wet and drying with some 1500grit paper two more coats of spary and then a layer of laquer i have finally got a decent colour match...all thats left to do is get the door sparyed uo (already booked) and the shell is ok :)
