Hi
New to the site, but its great.
Just bought an M reg gti and i love it.
Just started a problem yesterday where it kept stalling at junctions ect. So i read the many posts about cleaning the throttle body ect. So i have done this and changed the plug leads. The service history says that it has had new plugs dizzy cap and rota less than a year ago, so i assume they are fine.
But this is the annoying thing, the car now wont run when it is cold. it will start and keep running as long as you keep the revs up, as soon as you take your foot off the gas it dies. But it only does this when cold, as soo as the engine has warmed up it will stay running but it is still a bit lumpy on idle and you can feel the engine missing a beat when driving.
Any ideas?
Help Desperatly need.
Cheers

Have you had a look at the mass air flow sensor? This could possibly do with a clean or even reaplacing. Another thing you could also look at is maybe the idle stabilisation valve, which would cause an irratic idle. May also be worth getting fault codes read, recorded, cleared then take it for a drive and get the codes re-read and see what problems reamain constant.

sounds like a vacuum leak to me, check all the hoses are hooked up, and check the inlet boot isnt split :)
