Title: leaky leaky
Post by: dibdub on 13 December 2003, 18:32
my mk2 16v is costing me a fortune on parts leaking!it failed the mot this week on a leaky drive shaft gaiter,a leaky load sensing valve and a feul leak at the feul pump area. :'( :'( :'(
a mate had a look at the feul leak 2day and found a small hair line crack in the feul pump housing which it is leaking out of!!!while finding this he also noticed a oil leak >:(.he seems to think it may be a rocker cover gasket problem, because oil seems to have got everyway! is this a cheap fix?what  a nightmare!
bad luck or what!rest of car seems to be mint(bodywork, engine etc)so its worth getting done, but what a kick in the teeth right near xmas when money is even tighter.

The rocker cover gasket is cheap and easy to do. I was told its about ?3 from VW. Im having a rocker cover gasket leak too its nothing serious.

16v rocker cover is a little more involved than an 8v but still not too bad. Just follow the book and you will be fine. :)
