Nowthen Guys,
I was wondering if anybody has (or knows whats involved) with replacing the pierburg 2e2 with a weber carb on my friends clipper?
Hes biting the bullet and buying one from GSF. Is it a staright forward bolt off-bolt on? I know its a manual choke but otherwise?
Any help/ comments/ tips appreciated.
Cheers everyone
Ben

Try and get in touch via PM with Bronze mk1 cab as he put a webber on his clipper, he's just sold it but I'm sure he'll have some advice for you, other than that I don't know.

I've got one of them and an electric pump to go with it - I paid about £400 for them when tring to sort my mums car - only did about 100 miles but I forgot to take the choke cable out of the car before scrapping it :embarassed:
they're yours for £100

i had a webba carb on mine, i think it was a straight replacement, a garage did it for me and i noticed a definate bhp difference, i think its a must for the cabs, u should be able to tell by compairing the two once u get it, my automatic choke was sticking, thats why i replaced it.

Have a look at this:

Once I fixed my 2e2 it was brilliant! You'll at least want to read thru the last section on replacing the coolant channel o'ring, if you decide to fit the webber as this is most likely dead and will give you inlet icing issues :)

Hello I put a twin choke webber on my old cab...........................best thing I ever did

I fitted one, it was no trouble at all. The kit comes with full instructions.
The only other thing that I suggest getting, is a new " Carb to Inlet Manifold Mounting Plate". This is made of black rubber and is about 1cm thick, may as well replace it while its off, as there only cheap.
