Title: Tyre valve Please help!
Post by: dan the man on 10 June 2006, 18:44
Recently bought my mk4 Gti and lm loving the car. However the other day i noticed that one of my tyres was in need of some air.Took the car to the garage to inflate tyre but couldnt find the rubber valve to put air into. Then i noticed that instead of the rubber valve my alloys have a allen key fitting recessed into the wheel.Had a look in the car and found a little tool with an allen key socket on one end that i used to back off the fitting and the valve was behind it.Trouble is the air line still wont connect to the valve so im obviusly missing something but what? Do i need something to go onto the air line? This all seems stupid to me whats wrong with having the rubber valves. :embarassed:

Whoever fitted the flush valves on the wheels should have given you an adapter to use on a pump
