Anyone know of a good alarm company/alarm I could have fitted for no much cash. I have a Cobra immob fitted at the mo that is cat 2 so...........
Thx
-
you can pay for a clifford monthy if that helps
-
Clifford by Gap security. CAT1 amarm (concept 300) about ?350 fitted. ?17 a week or something?
Be warned! GAP SECURITY ARE DODGY FITTERS!
Left my mums and my sisters cars in a mess! Blown dash bulbs, poorly fitted dash parts, scratches! >:(
-
i'm getting a clifford concept 300 with remote start for those really cold morning from sextons in maidstone, i'll let you know how they get on if it makes it home that is
-
Thx all but I am talking ?100 most maybe a bit more. I dont need a Thatcham alarm as have the cat 2 immob :)
-
Not being funny mate, but a ?100 alarm won't be worth a w*nk.
Seriously consider either saving for something better, or do what others have suggested, and pay monthly for a quality item.
You might not need a Thatcham approved alarm, but it will will be an indicator as to how good it is, and I wouldn't waste ?100 on a non-approved alarm when ?200 will get you on the way to getting a cat 1 jobbie.
Those cheap, self-install jobbies are garbage and aren't worth the time wasted on installing them.

Be warned! GAP SECURITY ARE DODGY FITTERS!
Gap sub-contract out all their fitting work to self employed guys country wide, so I'd say you probably experienced a localised problem.
My old man had a Conceot 600 with remote start fitted to his Supercharged Holden GTS. The guy turned up bang on time, and spent the whole day making sure everything worked fine and dandy.
Bearing in mind there are only 75 or so of these cars in the country, and no haynes manuals exist for it, he did everything 'blind' so to speak and it was bang on.
Never be afarid to ask for the best fitter they have on their books is all I would say!!!

Does anyone know how to adjust the Siren and warning beeps?
The clifford manuel is confusing and i always get pissed off with it!
-
I found it fairlky easy to understand and changed a few bits on mine. Do u have the little clicker button to adjust with ?? It is normally near the L.E.D they install.
-
yeah the two buttons?
-
Two, hmmmmmmmmm I only had a 1 rocket switch button on mine. It rocked on one side and clicked on the other !! How about a pic of yours................Mind you my alarm was 2/3 years ago now so it has probably changed. ::)
-
Hi got one of these you can have for ?65+postage its all brand new and with full fitting instructions certificates etc http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2449236972&category=15329&rd=1
-
Hmmmm I am quite tempted by that. So is it easy to fit ? How you got a complete one with certs etc? I do realise it wont be classed as a Cat 1 alarm as it has not been installed by a VSIB approved installer. i.e Me :)
-
Hi I bought it off E-bay earlier this year but never used it I have toad Ai606`s on both my mk2`s so will never have any use for it,Yes I would say its easy to fit as its just the compact system ie no other boxes to fit everything runs from the siren, just your usual wires C/locking positive feeds indicators bonnet switch etc nothing too hard. the certs were included with it but obviously not stamped by anyone, cheers :)

ah sod it, dont have anything in the mota worth stealing anyways so I am not gonna bother with an alarm !!!
Thanks anyways
