Title: Red Paint Fade... HELP PLEASE!

Hello Everyone.

I have a problem and would really appreciate some advice.

I am looking to purchase a Tornado RED Mk5 GTI but I have been told that the paint will fade after a few years.

Is this true?
How bad will it fade?
Should I avoid RED and go for another colour?

i doubt it will as they will no doubt be 2 pack paint now. The old mk2s faded as they were cellulose and are a bastard to keep shiney. Look further down this page and there is a topic about tornado red.

mate it's not a 20yr old car, modern cars are painted with more durable water based 2k paints, don't worry about it, because, A: it won't happen and B: it'll be in about 20yrs if it does and i'm sure you may have changed it by then...... :wink:
