HA ha.

Jack, only the Americans and their allied Armed Forces have correct SAT NAV. All other users have errors, as the signal has deliberate distotion in it.  At sea I'm about 30 meters off a bouyed postion (chained to the sea bed)

However your speedo should be at it's most accurate at between 55 and 65 land miles per hour. Test it at a mile per minute with a stop watch.

Nautical or global miles are 1.14 to 1 car MPH. Check you SAT NAV setting Jack.

Speed camera's are generally set for a 10% error in the 30 and 40 mph zones.

do you have standard wheels & tyres mate?

if you don't then that will make your speedo read incorrectly too

Indeed, hey I'm reading old replies - sorry for that.

Yep, as Rhyso says: If ya have bigger wheel circumference than standard, then your speedometer will under-read your actual speed.

And vice versa for smaller wheel and lower prifile tyres.

If your smart ya can work out the error from wheel sizes and tyre profile, ha ha provided your tyres are inflated correctly when testing off the car.

circumference = PieD or (3.142 X diameter) then factor the difference on your speedo guage.

Cheers Rhyso
