can u do mk3 clocks when they're not in a car?
-
Yes - no problem - Just write down the EXACT current miles and bring it with you along with the new miles you require
-
What about Porsches fella????? :smug:
-
Doc, how can you tell that someone isn't simply trying to 'clock' their car? Also, I have already done 4.5k miles in my Mk5 GTI and need to set it back to zero.. can you help me?
-
Doc, I just did a search on digital mileage correction on google and I am really really shocked  I didn't know that it was so easy to clock a digital odometer... I am planning to buy a Mk4 Golf GTI Anniversary for my wife - or a Lupo GTI  - but how would I tell that some sneaky t055er hasn't clocked the car using one of these services? Is it traceable ? Especially with a fairly new car - I mean I could do 40k on my Mk5 GTI in a year and reset everything to around 18k.. how can people tell?

LOL, i know I shouldn't find all this funny but blimey it is............ Thanks for the info Doc, I'll keep that in mind
What a bummer I won't be at GTi international to meet some of you boys, i've got a flipping wedding to go to......... :undecided:
-
I looked for your stall at GTI International on saturday - just to say hello - but couldn't find you Doc
-
Sorry dude - But I was not having a stall I said I woud be about to do it!
The reason I did not go is I got out of bed at 11am so was far too late to go - shat happens!
-
Sorry - I am lost - what legitimate reason would people have to do this?

Only if you need a replacement dash due to failure - in which case the supplying dealer would program.
There was a feature on this in a national paper recently, and it highlighted the poor folk as pikey scum and essentially called them fraudsters. They called out these fellas (ads in loot etc) and had their sample car clocked on several occasions.
Now, thats a bit strong, there is a market and technically it is legal.... But of course we all know most people use these services for none legit reasons......
And a nice little earner too...
Goes against my grain though... hence I keep quiet... been biting my tongue, but it started to hurt....
