Title: ABS WARNING LIGHT
Post by: shearer27 on 05 June 2006, 14:22
Any ideas why and what it means when the ABS warning light comes on? I have noticed a couple of times when breaking a vibration under the breaking foot? Is it going to be a costly problem?

Possible warped disc.

That could also be causing the ABS sensor to trip out as well.

if the juddering is at slow speed then the ABS light is coming on it will probably be a knackerd sensor. £35 ish

Personally I would be more concerned about the cause of the juddering!

Does it pull to one side under braking as well????

That's just it telling you the ABS is active.  The juddering you feel is the ABS working - as the others say, if you weren't slamming the anchors on (i.e. hard enough to lock the wheels) at the time then you must have a faulty sensor which is reporting a locking wheel when there isn't one.
