Title: brake bleeding problem

hello
 Could someone help me out.I renewed all the brake pipes on my mk2 golf and changed the rear drums to disks, but bleeding them becoming aproblem.
The brake fluid squirts out the nipples with no sign of air and im still getting no brake responce ,also when pumping the brake with the nipples closed it sounds as if theres still air trapped at the rear.

any info would be of great help thanks.

did you hold open the rear brake compensator? (as if there was a large load in the back) And also, if the bleed nipples are at the bottom of the caliper try removing them and turning em upside down so the nipple is at the top & bleed that way :)

Sorry to exhume - I used the search and found this thread - just thought I'd add my experience to it.

I replaced the brake compensator today and held it open with wire while I was bleeding the brakes.  The nearside brake bled up quite quickly, but the offside took ages to bleed up.  An interminably long time, in fact.  I've not had this problem before, but I've not replaced a brake compensator valve before.  It did bleed up in the end though - persevere and you'll get there.

models with drums didint have this valve, im intrested in the conversion did you fit one? also was the master cylinder changed?

if you fit rear discs you have to have the compensator, otherwise the rears will lock up before the front :)
