Title: Mk2 Grille Red Pinstripe
Post by: PeteMk2 on 04 June 2006, 16:41
Hello

I brought a new grilled today its from another gti but the red pinstripe looks tired and has come off in places. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can make it look better. The guy I got it from said that i can get pinstripe stickers that normally go on the body...any help would be appreciated

Thanks

I totally removed mine and then got hold of some 'loopy lights'.com, cost about £10 and glued them in the place of the stripe, chav like I know but looks quite cool, and when they off gives you a neutral looking grill, they off colour is white, I tryin to get my pics online at the mo.

That looks mint! I wouldn't of noticed that you painted it. I will give it a go and see how it turns out but I was always rubbish and painting air fix models as a kid so it could go horribly wrong!!

Mask off the edges with masking tape, so you get a god clean edge.

small brush and take your time. allow 24 hours between coats, and not too much paint on your brush.
