Title: VW Navigation system - Golf Gti - Are they any good?
Post by: cheekyboy_123 on 02 June 2006, 22:35
Hi All

What are the navigation systems like that VW put in their cars as optional extras? I have a Golf Gti T (2000) and have been considering upgrading my stereo to one of these double din units..I have the spare compartment above so no problem - also these are specifically designed for these cars..
Question is - how do they compare to say a tomtom? Are they worth the £300 tag they fetch on ebay?
I'll enclose a link to one i'm taking about (just not nessasarily bought from him)..

Many thanks

I dont have one but im pretty sure they arent much better for sound than the standard units not 50wx4 like an after market radio. And i think you can add digital tv so pretty cool. As to the software i dont know you might have more luck from the ukmkiv's site as there are a billion mk4 owners.
