Hi
Been lurking for ages and posted a couple of times, but now I'm sorted on the car front I thought I'd say hello again.ÂÂÂ
I've got a 1988 Mk 2 Golf GTi that has been for sale on and off for the past 12 months, but after a recent trackday at Cadwell Park I've decided I'm keeping it  It's a standard car, but I'm hoping to do a bit of work on the suspension before the next trackday.
Trackdays are my thing really. I've been to Cadwell Park a few times, Mallory, Thruxston, Goodwood, Binbrook airfield and Elvington airfield, and at some point soon I'd like to visit Anglesey, Croft and Snetterton.
I've had the golf 2 years, and I've been looking for a practical daily driver that has reasonable running costs and is also a fun car to use on track. In the past I've used minis (still got 3, got a big soft spot for minis), an audi 80 quattro and an impreza (snowy airfield  ), but if I'd used the golf in the first place I would've saved myself a lot of expense and hassle - doh!  Still, I've scratched my 4wd itch for now...
Anyhow, hoping I can pickup a few tips on keeping the car a reliable daily driver but also fun on the track
Cheers
Neil

So whats wrong with Castle Combe????

:embarassed: I cannot believe I forgot about Combe  My first track experience was the miniworld action day at Combe in 1992.
It was foggy and I had a trundle round in my '79 clubman estate. I vividly remember the first time I approached quarry corner

Got me thinking, I've been round Curborough sprint track as well. It was wet, I had no grip
