Title: Lowering on standard Shox
Post by: BigDaveC on 31 May 2006, 16:44
Sorry this has probably been asked 1000's of times before !!

Can you lower the suspension on standard shox successfully ???? Eibach say you can use their springs to lower 30mm ok ?? I can't really afford the short dampers to go with them.

Thoughts on these for a cheap 'upgrade' to standard suspension ? (money is tight + fitting!)

Have you thought about doing the fitting your self. The only prob is the camber adjustment and the top nut on the front, so get it wizzed off prior to fitting by a garage. Personally id get it all done in one go because more than likely the standard dampers are fooked already and after you have just the springs done you will want to do the dampers so will save you time and money in the long run. A cheap combo would be boge turbo dampers(gsf) and h&r springs but if you want more comfort the eibachs are better

cheers for the info mate. I've looked at my dampers and they look a bit rough and tatty, and are probably knackered tbh. I've bought the above kit, so we'll see how that goes !
